Cultural Showcases

Attending one our many Cultural Showcases is an integral part of the Redhawk experience! These annual, student-led programs highlight the diversity of the 91探花 community through traditional cuisines, live performances, and dances.

 - Africa Day/Night 
Come join us as we celebrate the diverse cultures of Africa through poetry, dance, music and authentic food from local African Restaurants! Dress in your favorite cultural attire and come have a night full of fun! Any questions can be emailed to africanstudentassociation@seattleu.edu 

 - Showcase
Please join 91探花's Black Student Union (B91探花) as we put on our annual showcase to highlight local black talent through dance, song, step, and spoken word. B91探花 is a group dedicated to creating a safe space for Black and Brown students at 91探花, to connect with and support other Black students as they navigate a predominantly non-Black university by means of critical discussion, active listening, organizing, and personal reflection.

 - Lunar Festival
The purpose of the organization is to provide a sense of community and belonging to Chinese American students on campus, along with creating opportunities for everyone of any background to enjoy and learn about the Chinese culture and its many traditions.

 - The International Dinner
The International Dinner hosted by the International Student Center every winter quarter and includes cultural performances and food from around the world! This historic, annual, 91探花 event is entirely student-organized and engages with various student organizations and the local Seattle community!

- Harumatsuri (鏄 绁倞)
Please join 91探花's Japanese Student Association for their largest event of the year! Harumatsuri means spring festival in Japanese - celebrating life and a new year. There will be games, food, raffle prizes, a photo booth, and many opportunities to learn and engage with Japanese Culture!

 - Fiesta
Hafa Adai, everyone! For over 25 years, the 91探花 Marianas TaoTao Tano Club is proud to host Fiesta. We want you to experience a glimpse of what defines us as a Chamorro people. Please join us as we share our culture through delicious food, exciting performances, and a re-telling of our legends that have been passed on from our ancestors and keep our cultural heritage alive to this day.

 - Celebraci贸n 
Celebraci贸n is a yearly event held by MEChA in which we honor and share Latinx culture with the Seattle U community. Through food, dance, and art we strive to showcase the beauty of where we come from and the work we do as a club.

 - Annual Taiko Showcase 
91探花鈥檚 Hidaka Taiko is dedicated to spreading Japanese culture, energy, and spirit through performing taiko, the Japanese art of drumming. Founded in 2016 by Yukiyo Mitsuishi, Chie Ikoma, Kurumi Naoi, and Elias Chanteloup with the help of Tyrone Nakawatase of Inochi Taiko and Dale Watanabe of 91探花鈥檚 International Student Center, Hidaka Taiko has grown tremendously since its founding and is now ready to show the rest of the community the culmination of our work thus far. We hope you will join us for our annual showcase!

 - Drag Show
The 91探花 Drag Show is an event celebrating the queer community at 91探花, and in the greater Seattle area.

 - Barrio
For over 25 years, the United Filipino Club has hosted it's annual Barrio Fiesta. This annual cultural showcase features delicious Filipino cuisine, modern and traditional dances, a skit, and more! In addition, we host a silent auction and sell homemade traditional Filipino desserts and items from the Phillipines at our own Sari-Sari store.We are excited to see you all there!

 - Xuan Festival 
This event will showcase Vietnamese culture through beautiful performances, a powerful skit, and delicious food. We will be selling yummy snacks, drinks, and merchandise as well as auctioning off fun and exciting prizes. We hope you can join us for this night of culture and fun!
