Biography
I am a sociologist with expertise in sexuality and gender, and inequalities. My teaching and research is informed by feminist and queer theories and I primarily engage with qualitative methods. My book, Growing Up Queer: Kids and the Remaking of LGBTQ Identity, published by New York University Press in 2019, is an ethnography of an LGBTQ youth drop-in center. The analysis is an examination of how young people embody, express, and embrace queerness.
